The Annex

What more could you want on a Friday night other than fashion, food, art, bubbles & fun. This is exactly what I got at The Annex in Mt Hawthorn VIP party celebrating their birthday last week. It was a fabulous evening of designers on display such as Ellery, Garth Cook, Nicholas and more.

My beautiful friend Sarah Clifford http://www.soxforgloves.tumblr.com/ was one of the models (check her out below) and the amazing Pippa McManus was doing live illustrations. Even designer Garth Cook was there!

I left the evening dead on my feet after standing in stilettos for 3 hours, but it was worth the pain for a fabulous evening and a great experience at The Annex. I even came home with a new Lilya top!

Mid week musings......

So I am all about supporting Perth and our local talent, and talent we have! At the recent Perth Fashion Festival many new faces/labels/designs cropped up, and they were nothing but spectacular. One that caught my attention was an amazing young lady named Steph Audino.

Steph has a style that exudes glamour, sophistication, femininity, class and beauty, all the while staying modern and unique. I personally love the classic flowing looks of her gowns, that also come with an edge and hint of "sexy". She loves black, but this season she has stepped out and introduced beautiful pastel colours. She has also designed her own fabric which is stunning and unique to her label.

This month the Steph Audino label turned One! Congratulations Steph!! I'm sure this is the first of many birthday celebrations as this label continues to impress, excel and spread throughout Perth & beyond.

Steph Audino is a name & label to watch. I am determined to wear one of her beautiful creations myself, although I might be fighting my youngest daughter Cassidy who has requested to wear a Steph Audino to her year 12 ball in early 2013!

Weekend......

Saturday was fab! I played hairdresser (a side hobby I have including wedding & ball hair) for a wedding photo shoot. Got to work with the lovely and talented MUA Chloe Morien - check out her blog http://www.abrushwithcolour.com/, and her fabulous Aunty photographer Belinda Radalj. And of course the 2 beautiful models Jess & Charlotte.

Sunday was "Claremont Quarter turns Pink!" Claremont is my stomping ground, and anything raising money for pink ribbon is a passion, so of course it was a natural gravitation for me to hang out for a few hours at Claremont. Some fun, pink treats, Betts shoes & an Alice McCall dress later, all is well in my fashionista world.

My month of fashionista fun!

The last 4 weeks has been fun fashionista frivolity! Perth Fashion Festival was as wonderful as ever. I had the chance to volunteer BOH (back of house) for the Myer Luncheon, I won a VIP live photo shoot viewing at The Wesley Quarter, I got along to the Hatch popup store and fashion show, and topped it all off at An Evening with Flannel which was truly amazing.

I also organised and hosted a pink ribbon fundraiser fashion evening (see earlier posts) which raised over $5000 for breast cancer research.

What a weekend!

After a hectic few weeks, very little sleep, working 18 hour days and running around Claremont like a mad woman, our Pink Ribbon fashion evening fundraiser was a huge success! I'm excited to say we have raised over $5000 for breast cancer research!!

Nearly 3am, 18 hours at work, daughter in hospital still after minor surgery, fashion show nearly ready, no food in the cupboards as no time to shop, not sure about what i'm wearing to fashion event, exhausted.........

Rags & Riches

So after my first attempt at blogging just 24 hours ago, here I sit at work at 10pm at night, to again give it another go.

I am currently full swing into organising and hosting a Pink Ribbon fundraiser, to raise much needed funds for breast cancer research. I'm sure we all know someone, or have been touched by stories of people who have faced and either defeated, or unfortunately succumbed to this terrible disease. I know I have and thus, I am passionate about doing what I can to make a difference.

The vision of Pink Ribbon is zero deaths by 2030!

I very much want to be a part of seeing this vision become a reality.

Our event is a Rags and Riches Fashion Show. We have used and new clothing, shoes & accessories to sell. We have a fashion parade, an auction, canapes & bubbles, and much more including an interview with a breast cancer survivor.

The evening is a sellout, so it's set to be an amazing night of girlie fun, all the while raising a heck of a lot of money! It is on in just 2 days time, and with a million things still to do and organise, I really must finish off here and get on with it. I really don't want to spend the night at work!

Never say never......

I'm not writing a blog......

I'm not interesting in blogging.......

I'll never write a blog.......

Everyone blogs, so why should I?

'Never say never', a statement I should have learnt a very long time ago. Every time I have said "never" in my life, it seems to be bait to do the inevitable.

I'll never get married young, I'll never have kids young, I'll never be worried about my weight, I'll never write a blog.......

And here I am, setting up a blog late at night at an extremely busy and manic time at work, with eyes half open, a glass of red by my side, but funnily excited about blogging and what adventure it holds.

So briefly about me, I am a child of the sixties (just made it in). I have been married to the love of my life for nearly 23 years - our anniversary is coming up in a few weeks time. I have two beautiful daughters who are 19 & 16, and I have a love of fashion, shopping, clothes, shoes, bling and all things girlie and beautiful. I also love art, thus I am the curator of an art gallery. I love sport, travel, food & wine, family, friends, summer, Christmas, entertaining, fun, and a good laugh. 

So from the blogger who's not really blogging, I look forward to sharing my fashionista, art, foodie, wine, sports and fun adventures.
